I put the pig tape around the hogs this morning, and they were way too big to fit it! It maxes out at 270 lbs.
Later this afternoon the butcher showed up, shot them, and winched them into the back of the truck.
We ordered MSG-free spice mix from the Sausage Source and we’ll drop that off and fill out our cut sheet on Wednesday.
Their pen is a soupy mess, but over the next couple weeks we’ll pull out the rocks they worked to the surface and the rest of the sticks. Then we’ll level it a bit and plant buckwheat or winter rye.
